Our process

Reclaiming waste and our future

Heart + sustainability + waste = change

When we say our products are made with purpose we mean it. Every single decision we make is made based on its environmental impact. From the design and development process through to the makers we work with and the finishes we use. Working with textile waste is time consuming, but it’s worth it. Every tent we collect is one less tent in landfill and that makes us feel pretty damn good!

1. Waste collection.

We partner with Australian schools and music festivals to collect abandoned textiles (tents, gazebos and rope) otherwise destined for landfill. This crucial step has a huge sustainability impact by extending the life of materials and keeping them in circulation for longer.

2. Cleaning & sorting.

Once the textile waste has been collected it is carefully sorted and hand washed (twice) to ensure fabric is clean and ready for the makers. As the tents dry, we create colour boards to help with our design process.

3. Design development.

Our bags are designed with purpose and care in our Brunswick studio. We pay homage to the tent’s previous life, and the resources, effort and energy that went into making them by working the tent seams, logos, hooks and loops into our new designs.

4. Melbourne made.

Our bags are then made with a tonne of recycled love in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. We work with a team of talented and established pattern makers and production consultants whose eye for detail, shared values and passion for creating a more sustainable industry help stoke our mission to divert resources from landfill.

Once our bags are ready we…

5. Educate & inspire
