Please note every E tu bag is unique.
While we do our best to describe the details and features of each bag we simply cannot record everything. So please don’t be alarmed if your bag arrives and looks slightly different to what you see in the photo. That’s what makes E tu bags one of a kind.
On the same note we’re working with festival textile waste, it’s messy. Some materials clean up better than others, we hand wash the fabrics (twice) however some marks are stubborn. We’ve chosen to celebrate every aspect of the materials former life including the good, bad and the ugly so please join us in the celebration and use it as a talking point with your friends.
Together let’s take a stand for the environment by diverting harmful synthetic textiles from landfill.

MATERIALS
The materials used in our E tu bags are 100% reclaimed textile waste, collected from Victorian music festivals.
Once collected materials were hand cleaned (twice) in our Fitzroy studio and from there transported (often on bike!) to our Brunswick makers where materials are given a new life transformed into bags.
Previous life: Tent
Year collected: 2019
About E tu
E tū is the Māori word to ‘stand’.
We are taking a ‘stand’ for papatuanuku (mother earth), by raising awareness about textile waste’s impact on the environment. We are doing this by respecting the resources that have gone into making the products we consume and keeping them in circulation for longer.
Our mission is to divert 1000 tents from landfill by 2025, and build an open-source library of waste to wear tutorials to inspire others to join the movement diverting textiles from landfill.
